III) Forest Fire Prevention Training Programs

The offer includes a demonstration exercise and training led by experts with years of experience in forest fire suppression, offering invaluable hands-on experience.
We will also design workshops for children and volunteers, fostering early-stage awareness and active community engagement. Furthermore, we will closely coordinate activities with the State Enterprise (SE) “Srbijasume”, the local self-government, and schools to determine the optimal locations and schedule for these workshops.
Finally, a comprehensive report will be submitted, detailing the outcomes and overall impact of these initiatives. Our goal is to involve a minimum of 50 donor employees and 250 schoolchildren within each local self-government unit.

IV) Urban Micro-Forests
The goal is to create dense, self-sustaining microforests that mimic natural ecosystems and enhance biodiversity in small urban areas. These forests contribute to urban greening, air quality improvement, and the fight against climate change.
The seedlings are planted very densely—3 to 5 plants per square meter—which replicates a natural forest and creates competition among the plants, thereby accelerating their growth. For an area of 100 square meters, a total of 300 native tree seedlings and 200 shrub seedlings are required. Protection against dehydration and weeds is ensured by applying mulch across the entire surface.
The process requires preparing the terrain, marking the layout, and digging planting holes. Following the planting, watering is conducted and mulch is applied. Maintenance during the first three years involves watering and occasional weeding.

V) Shaded Smart Benches
Seedlings planted alongside smart benches must be avenue-grade trees with a minimum height of 3 meters. They must be securely anchored, equipped with a perforated irrigation pipe installed beneath the root system, and fitted with a protective sleeve to prevent damage from mowing.
The cost of the planting service, including all necessary materials, is approximately 4,000 RSD per seedling (excluding VAT).
The choice of seedlings depends on the budget, and we propose three options:
Pedunculate oak (Quercus robur), which sequesters the highest amount of over its long lifespan (the cost per seedling is approximately 10,000 RSD excluding VAT).
London plane (Platanus), a fast-growing species that sequesters significant amounts of during its intensive growth phase (the cost per seedling is approximately 7,000 RSD excluding VAT).
Black poplar (Populus nigra), a species that grows very rapidly, reaches impressive dimensions, and sequesters large amounts of , though its growth is conditioned by higher soil moisture content (the cost per seedling is approximately 5,000 RSD excluding VAT).

VI) Urban Green Pockets
The concept is designed so that a specific number of trees from appropriate species are selected based on actual site conditions (such as distance from buildings, sunlight exposure, and available space). These trees are arranged in 3 to 4 rows, with fast-growing and taller species positioned in the back. We have also factored in the possibility of subsequently creating a pathway through the center, lined with benches for seating.
A proper approach to establishing urban green pockets must focus on maximizing local community engagement across all phases of implementation. This approach fosters a sense of connection within the community, deepening their interest and commitment to successful planting and long-term maintenance.

VII) Permaculture Orchards (Food Forests)
The goal of the project is to promote permaculture as a nature-based model that ensures successful fruit production without the use of pesticides. We are creating green oases where native fruit seedlings are paired with aromatic and culinary herbs, establishing a small ecosystem where these plants support each other’s growth and development while naturally repelling harmful insects and other pests that could threaten the fruit or its yield.
We plant these food forests in primary and secondary agricultural schools, creating an outdoor classroom, introducing a new practical experience for students, and presenting a production model that is currently not featured in the educational curriculum of future farmers. In this way, we contribute to youth education and the adoption of permaculture principles they can apply in the future. These orchards can also be created on other public or corporate green spaces.
Furthermore, schools generally possess suitable land and all the necessary conditions for maintaining these orchards, which will serve for decades as outdoor classrooms and an additional source of fresh fruit and healthy refreshments for the students.
The proposal includes full engagement regarding site preparation at the selected school, the procurement of certified planting material, an educational workshop, and the organization of a volunteer planting action with the donor’s employees. A total of 300 seedlings will be planted on-site, consisting of 100 native fruit variety seedlings and 200 aromatic plants.
Additionally, alongside each orchard, the donor has the option to place a donor information board featuring details about the food forest, the planted species, as well as the logos of the donor and partners.

VIII) Establishing a natural habitat for pollinators
Pollinator Strips and Oases
The creation of plots with diverse plants, flowers, and trees provides a natural habitat and food source for various pollinators. An increased pollinator population contributes to biodiversity conservation and enhances agricultural production.
The established demonstration plots will be used to raise awareness about the importance of wild pollinators. These locations will encourage stakeholders, local communities, youth, and others to recognize the value of conserving wild pollinators. Ideal locations include primary and agricultural schools, farms, as well as green spaces within the donor’s factory grounds or corporate office complexes.
Volunteer participation in planting activities will enhance project impact and solidify the company’s standing as a leader in nature conservation.
The project encompasses establishing pollinator strips 3 meters wide and 200 meters long, planting 40 honey-producing tree seedlings, and installing a hotel for wild pollinators. This will be accompanied by an educational workshop for students and a volunteer action for the donor’s employees. Sowing, planting, and educational sessions would take place in autumn and early spring of the following year.
The proposal includes full engagement regarding action preparation at the selected location, the procurement of certified planting material and seeds, an educational workshop, and the organization of a volunteer planting action with the donor’s employees.

IX) Permaculture Orchard and Sensory Garden at the 'Heroj Pinki' Primary School in Backa Palanka

The “Heroj Pinki” Primary School in Backa Palanka is a place where children with developmental delays and disabilities learn social skills, self-care, and develop their psychophysical capacities. The school currently serves 49 students, with its services utilized by over 100 additional beneficiaries—children and young people with developmental delays.
The schoolyard serves as a recreational space for the beneficiaries, acting as a unique outdoor “sensory room” where students actively spend their time. We plan to enrich the yard’s features by planting 8 fruit seedlings and 16 companion aromatic plants. Additionally, we will fully activate the sensory garden by planting various culinary herbs carefully selected to stimulate children’s senses through a diverse range of scents, tastes, colors, and textures.
As part of the project, planting will be carried out following permaculture principles that mimic natural systems, where herbs protect fruit from insects or attract pollinators. The vision of the project is that, in the years to come, students will harvest the fruits of their labor and enjoy fresh, unsprayed fruit from the orchard they planted and nurtured themselves.
The plan for the schoolyard includes planting 8 fruit trees, 16 companion seedlings, and 22 plants for the sensory garden. Planned activities include:

Conducting the planting action with volunteers
Presenting maintenance techniques

Through this initiative, we aim to create a pleasant and stimulating environment for the school’s beneficiaries, while engaging responsible corporations and volunteers who wish to support the project’s realization. During the action, we will hold a lecture for the beneficiaries and school staff to help them acquire the necessary skills to maintain their small orchard and garden, ensuring they can enjoy outdoor activities throughout most of the year.
For corporate volunteers, we can provide the opportunity to actively participate in the planting and landscaping activities in the schoolyard.

X) Hotels for Wild Pollinators
As a highly attractive option, we offer the installation of hotels for wild pollinators alongside each action.
The hotels, designed to be inhabited by wild pollinators, are crafted with a wooden frame and utilize reeds as insect shelters. The choice of hotel depends on the budget, and we propose three options:
SMALL (26x24x20 cm): Hexagonal hotels that can be wall-mounted, attached to a tree, or freestanding on a post. They feature aluminum roofs that can be branded with custom vinyl wraps upon request (the cost is approximately 40,000 RSD excluding VAT).
MEDIUM (76 cm in height): Freestanding, house-shaped hotels equipped with observation windows for viewing the bees, which can be secured with a lock and key (the cost is approximately 80,000 RSD excluding VAT).
LARGE (110 cm in height): Freestanding, house-shaped hotels equipped with observation windows for viewing the bees, which can be secured with a lock and key (the cost is approximately 100,000 RSD excluding VAT).
All hotels come supplied with solitary bee cocoons and detailed maintenance instructions.

XI) Volunteer Action on Mount Goc
On Mount Goc, nestled in the heart of some of Serbia’s most beautiful forests, lies the teaching and research base of the Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade. The Goc educational base represents an exceptionally forested mountain area. As a characteristic forest mosaic of Serbia’s native tree species, it has been designated as a national teaching and scientific research center, continuously improved and developed for over fifty years. The significance of this area is reflected in its 650 plant species, including endemic, rare, endangered, and internationally important flora.
In 2014, the Goc-Gvozdac forest complex was declared a Category II Special Nature Reserve. A particularly rare feature of the Goc area is its preserved beech-fir forest community. The Special Nature Reserve is also home to 129 bird species (108 of which are nesting species), 20 species of amphibians and reptiles, 27 mammal species, and 634 insect species.
Activities are planned for 20 volunteers over a two-day period, including overnight accommodation with full board at the “Piramida” facility. The planned itinerary includes:
Preparing and conducting a workshop on sustainable forest management
A guided tour of the most attractive forest complexes, accompanied by a forestry engineer
A volunteer action to remove invasive species present in the forest that hinder the natural regeneration of beech and fir trees
Social activities and networking by the murmuring Gvozdac River

XII) Removal of Illegal Dumpsites and Reforestation
The proposal encompasses the identification of all illegal dump sites and the prioritization of their removal in cooperation with the local self-government. It includes reviewing and expanding existing landfill removal plans, calculating the cleanup costs for priority locations, and engaging qualified contractors. Furthermore, it covers developing a reforestation plan for the cleared sites, selecting appropriate seedlings from nurseries, and contracting the planting works with a qualified company.
Reforesting these cleared locations is of paramount importance to prevent future illegal waste disposal and restore the ecological balance. We will provide expert supervision over both the dump site removal and the reforestation process, guaranteeing quality and compliance with the plan. Additionally, we will secure video surveillance by installing cameras linked directly to the competent authorities to prevent subsequent illegal dumping.
Finally, a comprehensive report will be submitted, detailing all activities and achieved results.

XIII) Wildfire Prevention
The proposal represents a comprehensive approach to forest fire protection at the local self-government level. We begin with field assessments and the identification of the most vulnerable fire zones in order to precisely determine critical areas. In close coordination with emergency management departments, we establish priorities for implementing forest fire protection measures.
Furthermore, we review and expand existing clearance plans for fire breaks and access roads, ensuring their effectiveness. This is followed by calculating the clearance costs for the agreed priority locations and engaging qualified contractors.
Throughout the entire project, we conduct detailed supervision of the fire road clearance works to guarantee quality and full compliance with the plan. Finally, we provide a thorough report detailing all activities undertaken and the results achieved.
